Welcome to Dosbarth Glas.

My name is Miss Parr and I am the class teacher. Mr Russell, Mr Phipps and Miss Dash make up the Dosbarth Glas team.

We are a mixed year 6 and 7 class and we follow topic based learning.

In our class we follow the Curriculum for Wales and cover the 6 areas of learning:

·       Language, Literature and Communication

·       Mathematics and Numeracy

·       Science and Technology

·       Humanities

·       Expressive Arts

·       Health and Wellbeing

 

We enjoy structure and routine in Dosbarth Glas which is important for the children. Every morning, we have a literacy lesson followed by tuck shop and break. After break we have a numeracy lesson then after lunch we learn about the other areas of learning which is displayed on our visual timetable every morning for the children to see so that they are aware of what is happening daily.

 

The pupils also have opportunities for off-site learning sessions at Bryn Bach Park, with the Dosbarth Enfys team where they engage in opportunities such as team building, caving, climbing, kayaking, karting, bush craft, raft building and mini golf. They also enjoy outdoor educational lessons at the Woodlands, including nature walks, growing vegetables and cooking. They also have the opportunity for swimming lessons, reflexology and weekly sessions from Dragons Rugby.
